Notes - Per: Herman Peyton's letter dater Aug 1984,Valentine came from VA toLincoln Co, KY and setled at Peyton's Well, no more than 15 mi fromHustonville. PEYTONS OF VIRGINIA, published 1976; Valentine ha d beengranted land, first in Fayette Co, because of being a soldier; theland supposedly was not good for farming, and then founded Peyton'sWell, 3 mi n/e of Hustonville, Lincoln Co, KY (Vol II, pg 662 ,"History, of Kentucky" noted V. Peyton as a soldier of theRevolution."
