According to correspondent, possible Boothe cousin, in "The Valentine Papers,", Virginia Vols I - IV, pub ca 1823, there are Lees and Booths in the same area. Then later, Thomas Marsh Boothe came directly to Paris, TX to join his father. She believed that would account for the Lee connection from VA to TN to TX.
Also, there was reportedly a Booth-owned brewery in London.

According to Windsor Booth, son of John Samuel Booth, JT died in the dead of winter in 1909. "He was far from his home in Paris, TX, and there was no transportation, so he was buried in the Moroney Cemetery(sp) in Nacogdoches, TX. He was in the drayage business.
She was 19, and the oldest of five siblings, when her mother, Margaret Peyton Booth, died of tuberculosis, in 1889. Her father later remarried, and the kids apparently didn't like the new stepmother, some leaving home. She may have raised the youngest two, John S and Theo, as she and her husband did send Theo to college at Slippery Rock, PA. (source: Eva Russell Sanders)

According to "Biographical Souvenirs of Texas,"."William T. Booth, M.D., ...is a son of John S. and Martha (Nowlin) Booth, and was born in Bedford County, Tennessee, January 3, 1850....His father being a native of VA and his mother a native of TN. He is the seventh of ten children, and was reared mainly in Texas having come to this state at the age of seven. He was educated in the schools of Paris, Lamar county, finishing the literary course at the Un of KY, at Lexington. He read medicine with Dr. T.D. Wooten, then of Paris, attended lectures at the Medical University of Lexington.., graduating in March, 1875, and inApril following, located to thepractice of medicine in Honey Grove, Fannin County,..where he has since resided, and has been engaged exclusively in the practice of his profession. He is..one of the most successful and highly respected men of the area. ...He married in October 1876, Cornelia, the daughter of Leonard Harrall, a descendant of an old Texas family, which numbers among its members some of the best citizens of Lamar and adjoining counties." Note at bottom of page says mother's maiden name is Nowell.
His brothers, Dr. Tom and Dr. Will practiced medicine in Sherman and Denison, TX;
Dr. J.B. (T0be) died in Waco, TX;.Gabriel and Bud lived in Tarrant County, west of Ft. Worth.

He worked on the news staffs of the NY Evening Post, Washington Post, White House Correspondent for Time and Life Magazines, among others. In 1966, he was elected president ofn the National Press Club, sworn in Jan. 29, 1966, by Chief Justice Earl Warren, and an inaugural ball was held in his honor, afterwards. He led the successful fight to desegregate the club (black reporters as well as black guests had been barred) and laid the foundation for the admission of women members, which was achieved in 1968.
