  	Died of Pneumonia. Mrs George P Turner and two sons, Hampton and Burt, returned last Saturday from Waterville, where they attended the funeral of Mrs A T Greene, Mrs Turner's eldest daughter, who had died after a short illness with pneumonia. The Waterville Empire makes the following mention of the deceased: 'Mrs Greene, whose maiden name was Florence Adell Turner, was yet a young woman, having been born April 15, 1861, in Lucas County, Iowa. At an early age she embraced the Christian faith, and to the time of her death was distinguished and respected as a zealous follower of the Nazarene. Her family moved to Washington and became pioneers of Lincoln County in 1884. On Nov 4, 1886, she was married at Davenport to A T Greene, founder of Waterville, and came immediately to this place, being one of the first two of three women to arrive in this section of the Big Bend. She was therefore known to nearly all the first settlers, and there are few of those who came in early days who have not some recollection of her deeds of kindness and self sacrifice to cherish as the community shall in the future take on a stalwart growth. There is left to mourn her death her husband and young son, Dale, aged nine, and the mother and brothers above mentioned, together with a sister and brother, Mrs Walter Mann and Harold Turner, of this place. These have the sympathy of a large circle of friends, who are also, in a deep sense, mourners of the departed one. (LCT: 2-11-1898)
