She was born May 3, 1924, in Topeka, the daughter of Ralph B. and Ruth A. Porter Jencks. She was a lifelong Topeka resident. She attended Topeka High School and Washburn University. Mrs. McClure was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Kappa Alpha Theta Sorority, Chapter DF of the PEO Sistherood and Topeka Duplicate Bridge Club, and she was past president of the Northeast Kansas Unit of the American Contract Bridge League. She also served on the board of deaconesses of First Congregational Church. She married Robert A. McClure on June 26, 1963, in Topeka. He survives. Other survivors include a daughter, Candace J. Russell, Topeka; two sons, Timothy Jones and Matthew B. McClure, both of Topeka; two stepsons, John McClure, Denver, and Henry McClure, Clear Water, Fla.; a stepdaughter, Allison Bean, Topeka; five grandchildren; and eight stepgrandchildren. Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Mount Hope Chapel. Inurnment at Mount Hope Cemetery will be private. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
